Alright! Reviewing Berryz’s (FIVE) album! WOO!! o_O

HAPPY! stand up!
This reminded me of an old song. That one that Kamegaki + Kei and Kaori sang for 2007’s Music Fair 21 o_O; Anywho, love the synthesized voices. Pretty catchy song with the leet beat of doom xDDDD. Decent song. I would never skip this song xD.

Kono Yubi Tomare
xDDD You know, with a title like that, you would expect hawt Berryz on Berryz, but nope. No yubi magicalness o_o; Instead, we are slapped in the face with a classic-sounding song xDDD. Unlike HAPPY! Stand up!, this is a song I’m willing to skip if I ever come across it. It’s not something I’d like, despite my wide tolerance xD.

Baka ni Shinai de
One of my favorites of this album xDD. The vibe reminds me of hageshiki from their previous album, but with a more classic-ish taste to it like Morning Musume’s Genki+. I love everyone’s voices in here! Even though you can mostly hear Risako, haha. I like the parts where they sing the chorus and a lone singer breaks off from the pack to do a solo line and everyone else sings the next line xDDD I love love LOOOOOVE distressed voices to death XDD

Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance
What’s there to say? XDDDD TIKITIKITIKITIKI

Ah Merry-Go-Round
First, we hear a monologue… and then the music kicks in, rendering the monologue far more emotional than it ever was. And the next thing you know, you are completely submerged into this beautiful emo song. xDDD I looked at other reviews which said that many people weren’t too great with the song because Captain and Momo’s voices don’t blend well together, but I disagree. Ever since their power singing in Koishiteru, I’ve always loved their voices together, and this album did me a favour in giving them a duet together. These two are fucking amazing in this song!!!! <3333 I LOVE the part where they sang Koi no MERRY-GO-ROUND, mawaru MERRY-GO-ROUND because of the way they exert themselves into the emotion of the song. I can REALLY see them singing their most sensitive distressed looks as they sing it <3333 And somehow, this song is now number two next to Ai no Fune in H!P music XDDDD

CLAP!
Cute song xD… That’s all I can say o_O

Real Love
A lot of people didn’t like this song. I want to kick the living bejesus out of those people! D:< I can see how this was speculated to be a rejected Maki Goto single/album track because of its style and its lyrics, it’s very mature for Risako xDDD. Too Mature? I’m not sure. Risako seems to do a great job with this song, sounding very longing and not-so-grating like she usually is xDDD. I really liked the chorus too! <3. I look forward to seeing this live!

Yume o Ichi Tsubu ~Berryz Kobo Ending Theme~
Well it certainly sounds like an ending theme in a sense xDDDD. Yay Berryz Kamen! XDDD You guys should totally do you own sentai show, I can picture how your gigantic Mecha will be all SUPESHARU JENERESHON RABU! and kick the ass of even the most evilest villains. Anywho, this song seems to take a French tango vibe, not that I don’t like it, but it is certainly a peculiar choice in music xDDD. Can you picture Berryz Kamen tango-ing?

Special Generation (Eccentric Remix)
Why the HELL does almost no one like this song!? I LOVE it!!! I love the epic silent banging of the verses right after the epic trance beats. And then there’s the random transitions like the jazz and the Asian-ish cart music that manage to squeeze in there even though it doesn’t really have to be there. I suppose that’s why it’s eccentric xDDD And I love the instrumental at 3:13ish too ’cause well, I love that it matched with the verses, and now I loved that it became SG’s instrumental with the in-your-face AHs from Miya xDDD Oh and I totally love the echo on Risako’s voice at the end! <3333

Overall, the album was definitely better than their last one, but that’s probably because this album hosts my number two song, Ah Merry-go-Round XDDDD.

Alright, I didn’t review many of the new things in my LJ, so I’m going to catch up with the releases! D<

First up is Kiss kiss kiss! by Buono!

Song: xD The arrangement is really cute. Really happy anime song which happens to conveniently fit the adorable-ness of Shugo Chara~ Though, I just don’t like how it flows too much together, like a monotonous stream I guess? I like it when the separate instruments jump out on you in songs like these. Only orchestras or R&B can pull off this flowiness XDDD

PV: IS FREAKING ADORABLE xDDDDD. Once again, Momoko becomes the butt of all jokes~! But I bet we all love her because of it! The school vibe of the entire PV is pretty much reminiscent of the Shugo Chara anime too, so they pretty much paid tribute to that by having the same vibes. xD the after school cleaning… the eating… And then they invented Buono-kun on the chalk board xDD. How epic. Fufufufufu, the milk drinking scene… I watched the making of, so I totally know that Miyabi freaks out after a tiny sip of milk as opposed to being cool and composed like in the PV. XD Ever since I’ve watched that making of, I could never look at that milk scene again without picturing Miya wanting to hurl xDDD The mini-band version is cute too. In fact, it’s my favorite, methinks. ‘Cause they just have so much… Fun… xD And I have an unhealthy obsession with Miyabi’s mic. It’s just… really sexy.

Choreography: Simplistic choreography. Yaaaaay xD. It’s kinda hard to think of choreography for songs like this o_O;

Outfits: Both outfits are kickass! I’m liking the main dance shot outfits more though xD. The band outfits are okay, but the colors clash. A lot. Like Masae on crack. xD

Airi: is a linewhore as usual xD. But I love Airin, so it’s alright~! It made me laugh really, ’cause the other two are the more crazier ones while Airin here is the one who still takes her job at a professional basis instead of goofing around too much xD. She’s the “Sane” one of the group, roffle.

Miyabi: Dammit Miya. First you were a pineapple head. Then you were palm-tree head. And now you just look like a mop-head. XDDD… Damn it, girl, your hair’s too long to be using that style anymore~ xDD Oh well, at least she didn’t wear it like that for Gachinko xD. I really liked her voice for this single though. It’s like… When she finally sings her line in the pre-chorus, she totally takes over the song xDDD

Momoko: Is so freaking adorable xDDD. You know, because Miyabi was a mop-head for this PV, I was hoping to see Momo try to use Miyabi for the cleaning scenes. xD Can’t you picture our petite Buono leader try in futile to lift Miyabi up to reach those high windows, pinkies stuck out?

Overall: This is the average cutie-patootie PV xDD Nothing special about it that sticks out from the rest. XD…

Rating: 6.0

Pros: Miya’s mic, Airi, Momo playing harmonica with a set of drum sticks

Cons: They fail at color-coordinating street fashion.
